Beauty
On our family's journey for optimal brain + gut health, we were surprised to discover... optimal brain + gut health wasn't just about nutrition (which is vital) but also included WHAT you place on your body!!! Here's a few 'greenish' beauty recipes I have discovered along our journey... hope you enjoy + share + drop any recipes You may have in your cupboard.
The more you know, the more you can grow... right?
BLUSH RECIPE
Here's a sweet DIY all-natural blush recipe... it made sense to try it, since beets always leave a nice subtle hue to my skin when handling + beet root powder is used in the culinary world to "pink" dishes up!
So. Here you go, love!
DRY SHAMPOO RECIPE
I always joke how I am "held together with Jesus, coffee + dry shampoo"!

HERBAL TEA BATHS SALTS
As an emergency veterinarian, twin mama bear, wifey and wellness coach hosting a FREE community (Brain + Gut Health Explorers), I definitely felt MY OWN wellness had fell to the sidelines. And I’m not talking about eating well and working out… I’m talking about TAKING CARE OF ME with self-care! And herbal tea bath salts is one of my favorite ways…
CRACKED HEEL SALVE RECIPE

Anywho. Here's a recipe I found to help smooth those cracked heels
BERRY BODY SCRUB
Here's a sweet DIY all-natural body scrub recipe... it made sense to try it, since blueberries are known for being loaded with antioxidants which is great for the skin + the sugar is an excellent exfoliator. I like to add a wee bit of lavender essential oil to give it a relaxing-spa-like vibe.
EYE MAKE REMOVER RECIPE
Honestly. When writing this blog, I almost "skipped" this question. Seriously, though... "almonds in my beauty regimen, how in the heck?" Buttttttttttt... then I realized, I do use almonds in my beauty regimen. Well, it's almond oil. That counts, right? Almond oil is cold-pressed from the seeds of the sweet almond tree (thank you, Essential Oils book!). Almond oil is suitable for most skin types... it's gentle enough for sensitive skin!
CHARCOAL
As an emergency veterinarian, I have used activated charcoal plenty of times to treat certain toxins in patients, but over the past year or so, charcoal has made it’s way into my beauty routine.
